Alsace : a land of Romance.

On the frontier with Germany, Alsace extends from the Vosges mountains to the Black Forest.

A land of riches, covered with vineyards and wonderful villages where restaurants and winebars food and wine of world renown : Sauerkraut, Riesling, Sylvaner, Gewurtztraminer, Pinot Noir ...

The Wine Trail passes through vineyard villages such as Obernai and Riquewihr, and beside the trail are charming canals flanked by half-timbered houses with dovecotes, as in Colmar.

Strasbourg , the regional capital, houses the European Parliament building and the celebrated cathedral, particularly admired for the fine sculptures on the west facade.

Yet the region reserves other surprises such as the remarkable and unforgettable site of the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, only 15 km from la Romance.

In the Villé Valley, take to the ramblers' paradise, where on foot or mountain-bike several trails are available and the joys of fishing are open to all, as are the many traditional local village festivities. A Sports and Leisure Centre is nearby at Aquavallé.
